To be successful in this role, you must understand business priorities and translate them into the highest impact work. You’ll help business leaders look around corners with data-driven recommendations that improve organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and talent development. You will drive strategic initiatives related to organizational design and effectiveness, culture, inclusion, and other opportunities that you uncover. You will support and develop senior management to be effective Amazon leaders and culture champions.
Key job responsibilities
The role is both a strategic and hands on role including improving organizational effectiveness & design, leading change management, providing leadership coaching and driving HR functional excellence. Successful candidates will also demonstrate:
• Partner with business leaders to formulate people and organization strategy, mitigate risks, and drive results in a dynamic and often ambiguous high growth environment.
• Work with line managers and employees to address various employee relations issues, operating as a fact finder.
• Use data and metrics to identify trends, anticipate business needs, and implement action plans focused on employee experience and organizational health.
• Ability to write strategic narratives (e.g. organizational health, talent planning, etc.) that directly affect the business to propose people-focused solutions and drive business outcomes.

A day in the life
A typical day in this role involves providing strategic and tactical leadership direction, executing on people initiatives, providing internal customer support, advising and coaching employees and leaders through development and performance matters, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement. This role operates with autonomy and requires discretion and a hands-on approach to monitor the "pulse" of the employees to ensure a high level of engagement. The Sr. HRBP routinely partners with leaders at multiple levels of the organization to develop forward-looking strategies and goals focused on the employee experience and operational objectives.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree
• 7+ years in an HR leadership role
• Ability to deal well with ambiguous situations - comfort making high judgement calls and recommendations without always having clear-cut guidelines or precedents to follow
• Experience in driving change
• Experience writing research papers and conducting exploratory research studies
• Analytical skills. Experience using and presenting data to make decisions.
• Proven track record of partnering with senior business leaders
• Experience managing cross-functional projects and initiatives.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience working in a high-tech environment supporting start-up businesses
• Strong analytical capabilities - the ability to identify the right people metrics and implement solutions to drive positive change
• Experience driving change at scale

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $193,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
