Amazon is looking for a customer obsessed, analytical and innovative individual to join Amazon Fresh Grocery as a Senior Category Manager. This role will own the P&L for some of the largest categories in Snacks and work closely with the largest vendors in grocery. You will utilize a wide range of skills and work across major functional areas such as supply chain, marketing, merchandising, pricing and promotions to drive performance.

The ideal candidate should have extensive buying experience as well as demonstrated ability to plan assortments independently, think strategically, analyze and interpret data, spot market trends, and collaborate with vendors. A detail-oriented and analytical mindset is a must along with a strong proficiency in Excel and a natural curiosity for the customer.

You will be expected to thrive in ambiguous situations, take ownership of goals, and work in a fast-paced environment to deliver results. Much of this work will be cross-functional, working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure an optimal assortment. As a result, a collaborative attitude, great communication skills and a keen sense of initiative are critical to success. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who will take ownership of projects and business problems to drive successful results.

Key job responsibilities
• Plan the assortment for multiple categories, determining what items to put on our digital and physical shelves
• Own the P&L for multiple large categories, hitting top and bottom line targets
• Develop strategic relationships with new and existing suppliers to ensure early insight into new trends and products; early and exclusive access to new items; merchandising and promotions and competitive costs.
• Develop category strategies, detailing what changes will be made to the categories over the next year and the direction you want to take the categories over the next three years
• Plan endcaps and other promotions
• Work closely with marketing to develop your category's marketing strategy

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of with Excel experience
- Bachelor's degree, or 5+ years of professional or military experience
- Experience with business analysis and P&L management
- 5+ years of buying or category management experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience using data to influence business decisions
- Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
- Experience negotiating with internal and external stakeholders
- 5+ years of account management, project or program management or buying experience
- Grocery buying experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
