Principal Technical Program Manager will partner with engineers, other TPMs, and senior management to help create world-class solutions. Key job responsibilities
- Translate customer’s business requirements into technical/functional specifications for the engineers
- Ascertain the true requirements underlying feature requests; recommend alternative technical approaches and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines
- Ensure success in building and transforming web applications, and services on to the Amazon systems
- Drive data related initiatives to improve the customer experience on the sites through Personalization, Segmentation and Analytics
- Participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the Amazon product environment
- Capture, share and leverage your best practice knowledge across a broad group of engineers throughout all subsidiaries
- Partner as a technical liaison between customers and engineering teams
- Create content such as whitepapers and other written deliverables
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $159,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
