Key job responsibilities
• Manage all aspects of vendor relationships, from process implementation to performance evaluation and improvement.
• Support document management and compliance.
• Partner with stakeholders to create and manage compliance controls.
• Clearly define and uphold performance standards based on organizational and team goals.
• Identify opportunities for improvements across the entire auto claims program and all lines of business.
• Effectively communicate recommended risk mitigation strategies and program/process improvements to cross-functional and internal leadership teams.
A day in the life
In this role, the Principal Risk Manager will use their expertise in liability, excellent analytical skills, and outstanding business acumen to deliver results. They will obsess over our customers (internal and external) and will work backward from the stakeholder needs to create best-in-class processes. They are a trusted partner to our external partners and internal business operations and will leverage those trusting relationships to create excellent outcomes.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of program management experience in insurance and claims programs
- 10+ years of compliance audit or Risk Management experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
- Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent
- Master's degree or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $214,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
