In this role, you will be responsible for the executive compensation strategy, planning, and execution for the Amazon Stores business on a global scale. You will drive competitive and equitable compensation practices, balance risk and reward and are aligned with our core compensation philosophy. The successful candidate will proactively identify executive compensation needs for each organization, on a current and forward-looking basis, and partner with senior leaders to address compensation and related matters.
Key job responsibilities
Partner with senior People Experience and Technology (HR), Executive Recruiting and business leadership to develop and implement compensation strategies relevant to the specific organization, and aligned with our compensation philosophy.
Independently lead discussions with senior leaders in the business, HR, and Executive Recruiting.
Develop creative solutions as needed on a variety of total compensation issues, and work on a variety ad hoc special compensation projects as needed
Perform deep analysis on effectiveness and competitiveness of existing global compensation programs and assess potential impact of alternatives.
Build and maintain mechanisms to drive operational excellence, and work with executive compensation tech talent to implement new tools as needed.
Understand current state of systems and processes and develop gap analysis between current state and customer requirements.
Conduct custom surveys with key industry contacts, as needed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 7 years of experience in Human Resources, Compensation Management, Consulting with an in-depth knowledge of core compensation terminology and best practices.
Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, Economics, and/or Business or equivalent experience
General knowledge of compensation compliance with the state and federal laws that apply to the plans.
Highly proficient in Excel and crisp, written communication.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Executive Compensation and Project Management experience.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment, with all levels of employees in the organization.
Strong interpersonal skills — Excellent written and oral communication skills for internal presentations that demonstrate business acumen.
Extremely strong analytical and quantitative skills and a track record for planning, delivering, and auditing work.
Ability to create dynamic tools and models to interpret and analyze data.
Proven experience in leading/overseeing complex corporate or multi-business level initiatives/projects.
Ability to work independently, take on responsibility and be quick of foot in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment.
Superior consultation skills and the ability to seek out information and provide quality advice.
A graduate degree and/or CCP is preferred.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $144,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
