The ecommerce landscape is always evolving, however, and we're looking for a Market Research Manager to lead primary research in order to gather data that will help us attract and serve the next generation of Amazon sellers.
The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who builds trust quickly. This person is full of hypotheses to test, curious about cutting-edge ecommerce trends, and an engaging communicator capable of translating hard research into inspiring insight.
This role will build out and represent the market research program within our organizing, presenting to executive leadership and educating cross-functional teams. The measure of success in this role will be the velocity, quality, and clarity of research, that doesn't end in a report but rather a tangible, positive impact on our business and in the lives of sellers.
Key job responsibilities
- Build a research roadmap to generate insights and data (quant and qual) about ecommerce trends, seller barriers, emerging brands, and other related topics.
- Develop a continuous discovery program to generate customer insights and market analysis on a regular cadence.
- Create targetable customer segments and archetypes to drive strategic seller recruitment and go-to-market campaigns.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., UX design, content, experimentation, sales, analytics) to integrate market research with usability testing, business reporting, and other customer touchpoints.
- Present research in the form of cogent topline reports—written and visual—to help executive leadership better understand the present context of our business, look around corners to see opportunities and risks, and inspire new ideas for innovation.
- Assimilate data and home in on key insights to generate high-impact business recommendations.
