We are looking for a highly accomplished and visionary data science professional to join our Ads Customer Experience and Insights (CXI) Team, where you will lead our data science strategy. The Ads Customer Experience and Insights (CXI) team drives Amazon Ads to innovate and deliver the world’s best ads experience for the hundreds of millions of customers (shoppers, viewers, etc) who shop on Amazon Stores and enjoy entertainment content on Prime Video, Freevee, Twitch, and Amazon devices like Fire TV. In this role, you will collaborate closely with business leaders, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to drive the success of the CXI team through data-driven solutions. You will be responsible for shaping the data science roadmap for CXI, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making, and delivering significant business impact through the application of advanced analytics and cutting-edge data science methodologies.

Key job responsibilities
As a Data Scientist on this team, you will:

1. Develop and drive the data science strategy for the Ads Customer Experience and Insights (CXI) team, aligning it with the overall Amazon Ads business goals.
2. Identify high-impact opportunities to enhance the Ads customer experience and lead the ideation, planning, and execution of data science initiatives to address them.
3. Solve real-world problems by obtaining and analyzing large amounts of data, diving deep to identify business insights and opportunities; design simulations and experiments; develop statistical and machine learning models tailored to business needs; and collaborate with scientists, engineers, business intelligence engineers, and product managers.
4. Write code (in Python, R, Scala, SQL, etc.) to obtain, manipulate, and analyze data.
5. You will design prompts, guiding large language models to generate specific, accurate and exceptional responses.
6. Apply statistical and machine learning knowledge to specific business problems and data.
7. Formalize assumptions about how our systems are expected to work; create a statistical definition of an outlier; and develop methods to systematically identify outliers.
8. Conduct written and verbal presentations to share insights with audiences of varying levels of technical sophistication.

About the team
The Ads Customer Experience and Insights (CXI) team drives Amazon Ads to innovate and deliver the world’s best ads experience for the hundreds of millions of customers (shoppers, viewers, etc) who shop on Amazon Stores and enjoy entertainment content on Prime Video, Freevee, Twitch, and Amazon devices like Fire TV. We represent the customer perspective on how ads can drive right-sized product discovery, with as little frustration as possible. We fundamentally believe that delivering a world-class ads experience for customers will drive long-term business growth.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of data scientist experience
- 3+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
- 3+ years of machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques, and parameters that affect their performance experience
- Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in Python, Perl, or another scripting language
- Experience in a ML or data scientist role with a large technology company
- Production level experience with Generative AI Applications/Solutions

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $125,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
