This role requires the ability to effectively position training and enablement solutions that will help our enterprise customers achieve their digital transformation goals on AWS. You will work closely with C-suite and other senior decision-makers to understand their training requirements, develop tailored proposals, and drive the successful delivery of these programs.
Successful candidates will have a strong background in solution selling and business development, with expertise in:
- Consultative selling to senior-level stakeholders across various industries
- Conducting training needs assessments and crafting comprehensive training plans
- Presenting technical cloud and AI training solutions in a compelling, business-aligned manner
- Managing the full sales cycle, from lead generation to client satisfaction
This is a highly visible position with significant customer impact. You will be responsible for driving training adoption, increasing cloud consumption, and accelerating our customers' journey to the cloud and generative AI. This is your chance to work as a Business Development Manager in our Training & Certification team covering the Americas (Canada, North America, Latin America & PubSec).
AWS is seeking a Business Development Manager to help us maintain our leadership position as our customers’ preferred cloud platform. The role focuses on evangelizing and selling our Training and Certification services. This team, which you will lead and build daily operations of, is critical to helping our customers accelerate their adoption of AWS cloud services.
The ideal candidate will have clearly documented success in owning, defining, and executing programmatically against the needs and strategic priorities. Specifically experience with technical certification programs, authorized channel programs, and enterprise skill programs, which provide the right candidate the foundation for success. They should be familiar with customer challenges related to cloud adoption, and have experience helping customers overcome those challenges. They should deeply understand the business benefits of cloud computing compared to client owned/managed on-premise data center resources. They can clearly demonstrate through their career that they have built deep customer trust and delivered big results by helping create and execute long-term transformational training programs. They will be willing to operate both tactically, but can quickly zoom out to lead the organization with big, strategic thinking. They will have strong business acumen and regularly demonstrate to senior leadership their operational rigor. This candidate will have the opportunity to help drive the growth and shape the future of our Training and Certification services. Therefore, experience influencing product roadmaps will be important.
Key job responsibilities
• Develop training leads and manage them to closure
• Work closely with Sales and Partner teams to provide comprehensive training proposals for customers and partners
• Become proficient in AWS Training legal terms and conditions to execute detailed training Statements of Work (SOWs)
• Work closely with clients to determine their training requirements and build tailored training proposals/plans to accelerate AWS adoption
• Maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure flawless execution of training plans
• Conduct Training Needs Assessments with key customers
• Evangelize AWS Training & Certification at company and industry events
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline of training opportunities, providing regular forecasts and business reviews to leadership

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of business development, partnership management, or sourcing new business experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience with sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar software
- Experience setting up and managing a sales pipeline
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in business development, partner development, sales or alliances management
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience in driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- 5-10 years of business development, technical, and pre-sales experience, preferably in the IT industry and with knowledge of digital training solution

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $83,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $177,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
