SDE 2 AWS Billing , PPOA

AWS Commerce Platform (CP) provides the backend and front-end services that enable AWS service teams to sell and AWS customers to purchase AWS services, understand and manage their infrastructure costs. Because we sit at the nexus of all AWS services and end customers, we work closely across all AWS teams to ensure that we offer a great customer experience.

AWS Agreements with AWS Billing, owns the services that capture AWS' billing related agreements with customers and trigger the corresponding fulfilment steps, every time a customer signs up, subscribes to a service, signs a custom contract or purchases a good or service, including the components to issue related ad hoc charges and adjustments. We provide solutions for both service, and support and operations teams. These teams use our systems directly and indirectly to process purchase and subscription transactions, charge flat fees, entitle customers to use products or benefit from discounts associated to products, do manual billing, and adjust previously issued bills and invoices.

Our long term vision is to offer a simple set of APIs to make purchases, send invoices and collect payments for any business that wants to bill online. While this is an important north star, our more immediate goal is to enable AWS to provide its customers with a consistent and transparent billing experience and allow service teams to move faster. Towards these goals, we will evolve our existing services into an extensible platform for storing, and processing all the terms and conditions necessary to automate billing decisions and ultimately enable our end customer to better understand the resulting bills. We will onboard Subscriptions, Rocketship services, as well as the other CP systems that generate and consume agreements data onto this platform. This will move CP towards the strategic goal of owning all the required information to do billing automatically, accurately, and on time.

On-Call Responsibility :This position involves On-call responsibility. We work as a team to root-cause the issues and ensure our systems are resilient and fault-tolerant.
