Key job responsibilities
- Mentor, coach, and grow an international team of UX Visual and Interactive Experience Designers to deliver exceptional customer experiences with the highest level of visual polish, establishing mechanisms like design critiques to ensure quality.
- Balance the pursuit of a high creative standard with the need for a seamless and frictionless user experience.
- Own objectives to reduce development hours required for creating bespoke digital experiences.
- Champion accessibility in all team projects and influence peers to prioritize inclusive design practices.
- Partner with evergreen ad product owners to develop long-term strategic design roadmaps, implementing systems and validating patterns through testing.
- Manage Brand Innovation Lab's global Figma organization, distributing templates, maintaining design libraries, and establishing best practices for file organization and team structure.
- Resource and schedule your team's design work for the Brand Innovation Lab's advertising campaigns.
- Adopt a product-minded approach by identifying repetitive manual tasks and proposing streamlined solutions through components or innovative methods.
A day in the life
- Partner with Solutions Managers to schedule or scope campaign deliverables, such as a FireTV or Amazon.com shopping experience.
- Meet with product owners to identify and consult new features in Ads solutions such as Hyundai's showroom or GEICO's Quote on Amazon
- Foster an inclusive and sustainable culture through 1:1s and team activities
- Define and continuously measure your team's KPIs through Weekly Business Reviews and yearly operational planning
- Stay in sync with your peers, including Design Technology Managers, to facilitate smooth handoffs from project design to development
About the team
Brand Innovation Lab pushes boundaries on advertising products and creates flagship experiences that help the world’s largest advertisers deliver value to customers, and impact the long-term growth strategy of Amazon Advertising. The team works strategically to develop unique, ad product-agnostic campaign ideas that bring customer insights to life across Amazon, and uncover new ideas that will grant clients access to new parts of the Amazon canvas through integrated brand partnerships and product betas. This role specifically sits within the Brand Innovation Lab Endemic team, working across brands.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of experience managing a team of designers to create immersive digital content.
- Strong understanding of design thinking, design research, and user-centered design principles.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- 6+ years of design experience as an individual contributor.
- Proven experience delivering accessible solutions meeting WCAG 3.1 AA standards.
- Basic knowledge of web development, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated experience in creating and leading a team to develop seamless UX patterns for immersive digital experiences, including AR/VR.
- Experience managing and scaling Figma DesignOps to improve design efficiency.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $225,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
