One focus area of the Amazon Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) mission is to provide tools, resources, and environments that support safe, efficient, healthy behaviors and encourage employees to proactively manage their health and wellbeing. To support this focus area, we are searching for a Workplace Health & Safety Methane and Vapor Intrusion (VI) Regional Field Manager.

In this technical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the site environmental controls are operating effectively, acting on behalf of the WHS DD corporate team, and supporting on-site staff by overseeing safe operation of the methane mitigation system and maintenance of the engineered cap. You will also be responsible for understanding currently operating systems, verifying their proper operation, troubleshooting and correcting problems, completing monitoring obligations, coordinating with local regulatory agencies, if necessary, and reporting to the WHS DD Field Manager Lead and corporate teams on the conditions and safe operation of each system. Additionally you will support on-site personnel during building renovation to ensure safety protocols during renovation are in-place and being followed, and confirm system functionality is maintained during and after completion of renovation work.




Key job responsibilities
Oversee ground-disturbing construction activities as a representative of the corporate WHS DD team.
Conduct soil gas monitoring using specialized equipment.
Supervise methane mitigation and landfill engineering controls maintenance performed by the landlord.
Establish protocols to ensure safety controls during ground-disturbing activities.
Manage and schedule maintenance contractors.
Coordinate integration of telemetric mitigation system controls into building management systems.
Train on-site staff on system functionality.
Develop standard operating procedures for monitoring and oversight.
Maintain records of system operation, maintenance, and monitoring.
Review telemetric data and support local teams in managing alarms.
Liaise with Global Security Operations Center for system monitoring and response.
Serve as regional point-of-contact for troubleshooting and alarms.
Act as liaison between building owners, contractors, and corporate teams for system maintenance and renovations.
Oversee implementation of mitigation plans during renovations.
Support on-site teams through coordination and plan review.
Review contractor contingency and emergency response plans for high methane environments.
Provide feedback to WHS on work performed by contractors, developers, and consultants.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 6+ years of due diligence & remediation experience or risk management or contamination management
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Chemical or Environmental Engineering, or related field of study
- Experience serving as a technical expert.
- Possess knowledge and experience of ASTM Phase I standards and other environmental protocols, understand core business and legal concepts of business transactions, with continued interest in working on transactions.
- Understand core business and legal concepts of real estate business transactions, with continued interest in working on transactions.
- Experience in development and implementation of environmental standards and policies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master's degree or equivalent
