Key job responsibilities
- Design, implement, and deploy data solutions that are high quality (e.g., secure, testable, maintainable, low-defects, efficient, well documented etc.) and incorporate best practices.
- Focus on operational excellence, constructively identifying problems and proposing solutions, taking on projects that improve data architecture, making it better and easier to maintain.
- Design, implement, and support data warehouse / data lake infrastructure using AWS big data stack, Python, Redshift, Quicksight, Glue/lake formation, EMR/Spark/Scala, Athena etc.
- Mentor other engineers, influence positively team culture, and help grow the team.
A day in the life
As a data engineer in the Robotics Manipulation Org, your day is filled with the challenge of optimizing data flows across multiple systems. You start by reviewing KPIs, uncovering insights to drive performance improvements. Working closely with software and ML teams, you streamline data pipelines and feature engineering, ensuring high-quality, real-time information fuels the models powering the robots. Whether automating workflows or conducting in-depth analytics, your expertise directly contributes to the advancement of these cutting-edge programs. In this fast-paced, dynamic environment, you collaborate on innovative solutions, leverage the latest technologies, and make a tangible impact through your data-driven approach.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of data engineering experience
- 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Knowledge of distributed systems as it pertains to data storage and computing
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience working on and delivering end to end projects independently
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
- Experience with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
- Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)
- Experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets
