Amazon Robotics is seeking Technical Program Manager, who will be part of the Global Safety & Support (GSS) Retrofit team. This role will drive hardware and software retrofit programs for the Amazon robotics fleet deployed across the network. The retrofits will aim to improve the performance, reliability and safety of the deployed robotic and automation systems. Working closely with various stakeholders across amazon such as hardware and software engineering, configuration management, supply chain, finance, reliability and maintenance engineering, operations, safety and compliance teams. We are looking for invdividuals who possess a blend of customer-facing and technical skills, and will own retrofit programs/projects from ideation through execution and validation. Successful candidates will possess a blend of strong technical aptitude, trouble-shooting capabilities and customer-facing skills, along with a passion for cutting edge technology.
Key job responsibilities
- Manage small to medium technology programs, delivering targeted improvements in products and processes. Drive end-to-end program ownership, including scope definition, milestone planning, and on-schedule delivery.
- Oversee multiple projects, and ensure all program goals are achieved
- Work closely with engineering teams and cross-functional partners to define program requirements and support solution development. Facilitate cross-team alignment, manage dependencies, and ensure stakeholder needs are met.
- Leverage technical expertise to evaluate design approaches, mitigate risk, and ensure efficient, scalable solutions. Escalate complex technical issues and involve senior engineers for additional review as needed.
- Identify and implement process efficiencies, applying lean manufacturing and agile methodologies to optimize retrofit workflows. Recommend improvements to existing procedures to increase program effectiveness.
- Independently manage program activities and schedules, clearing blockers and accelerating decision-making. Identify, mitigate, and communicate program risks; escalate appropriately to drive resolution.
- Develop clear, concise communications to update leadership on program status and key decisions. Draft and present program documents, including PR/FAQs, OP narratives, and executive summaries

A day in the life
A typical day in a life of TPM involves, analyzing projects and risks associated with their planning and execution, engaging critical stakeholders of the business and problem solve any blockers identified. Plan execution of retrofits working with multiple stakeholders, and ensure communication strategies are in place. Participate in daily team stand ups to communicate status of the programs and raise necessary risks to leadership. Engage with team members and identify improvement opportunities in existing processes. TPMs ensure all program goals are achieved through daily monitoring of milestones

About the team
The AR GSS Retrofit Program Management team is responsible for managing the execution of hardware and software changes to AR technologies. these retrofits address safety concerns, supplier quality issues, field upgrades, and other design changes that add value to an AR product. Retrofit work can be executed at active Amazon Robotics fulfillment centers, Amazon Robotics inventory warehouses. The team consists of helpful and highly motivated people working together cohesively to accomplish the organizational goals
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience working directly with engineering teams
- 2+ Experience with Project management tools such as Asana or similar.
- 2+ Experience leading highly technical projects/programs with cross-functional teams
- 1+ Experience with process engineering and lean manufacturing techniques, time studies analysis, continuous improvement
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ years of software development experience
