Fulfillment Technology & Robotics (FTR) conceive, design and develop innovative products for e-commerce operations that include robotics, mechatronic sortation solutions, packaging automation, AGVs, storage or other hardware solutions. FTR is seeking a talented and self-motivated intern to assist with the development and testing of the safety systems in our hardware products.

A Hardware Safety Engineer determines the applicable regulations, standards, and safety requirements for new and existing industrial machinery w/ emphasis on industrial automated systems. The safety engineer collaborates with design team members to perform safety risk assessments and drive engineering changes to reduce risk and ensure compliance to applicable standards and regulations.

Fulfillment Technology & Robotics (FTR) internships are full-time (40 hours/week) for 12 consecutive weeks during Summer.

The Intern will be responsible for:
• Completing project tasks with a team of other interns and FTR engineers
• Utilizing FTR engineering tools and processes
• Prototyping and testing concepts or features
• Tracking progress of task deliverables
• Developing and maintaining design documentation
• Presenting information to managers and engineers

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Completion of at least junior year working towards a BS or MS in electrical, mechanical, computer science, robotics, or systems engineering.
- Must have at least one semester left of school after completion of internship
- Demonstrated experience working in team environments

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Project/Internship experience with Automation
- Previous project team experience recommended
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience resolving complex issues in creative, efficient, and effective ways
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Customer focus
