As System Development Engineer, you will be responsible for defining, building and supporting the system design, architecture, and software for Blink, Ring and all of Amazon Devices. As a member of our team, you will collaborate closely with the business and cross-functional engineering teams across different organizations to gather engineering requirements, design, and implement new featureYou will contribute to all aspects of an agile software & systems development life cycle including design, architecture, development, documentation, testing and operations. You are the engineer that other engineers can count on; you are technical and driven to deliver innovative solutions.

Key job responsibilities
- Dive deep and take ownership of critical design issues involving Machine Learning/GenAI, hardware/firmware interfaces, IoT interfaces, and overall system performance with advanced AWS Tooling.
- Define and/or refine system requirements, develop Interoperability-related features such as system health monitoring, diagnostics, repair, and other self-healing automation.
- Influence and partner to develop the technical strategies for overall system designs
- Solve problems using cutting edge technology, software, systems design, architecture, process, and operations.
- Actively participate in team reviews of architecture, design, operations, process, systems and post-incident analysis.


A day in the life
Your work is hands-on and multi-disciplinary. You will be working closely with engineers and product teams on challenging issues such as ultra-secure data transferring. You write documents, carry out experiments, demonstrate proof-of-concepts, build prototypes, and ship sophisticated systems world wide.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
