Within AWS, the Global Services organization touches every stage of a customer’s cloud lifecycle and simplifies how customers interact with our individual services. The GS Communications and Creative Solutions team (GSCCS) is seeking a highly creative communications professional to drive internal storytelling and content development, while building the mechanisms, processes, and strategies that raise the bar for the team's editorial operations and moves us towards a more creative, responsive, and agile newsroom model.

Serving as a content and editorial lead, the Sr. Communications Manager is responsible for contributing to the internal strategic communications function, working closely with business stakeholders across Global Services, as well as PR, Marketing, Sales, and HR, to deliver creative and engaging stories across different mediums and channels. They work backwards from the needs of our internal customers and measure success through both quantitative and qualitative data points.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

Key job responsibilities
- Identify and own critical internal storytelling opportunities that support goals across the Communication team and Global Services at large, while emphasizing impact, creativity, efficiency, and speed.
- Serve as the team's primary editor and subject matter expert on journalistic best practices, implementing processes and mechanisms that ensure the highest quality standards are consistently met.
- Support business unit communication managers during high volume periods to provide additional content creation resourcing when necessary.
- Build compelling communications that capture attention across a variety of mediums and channels, including email, digital, video, graphic, and visual communications.
- Work closely with our Shared Services team to analyze data, assess content and channel effectiveness, and determine necessary continuous improvement efforts.
- Exercise high judgment and a flexible problem-solving approach to deliver results quickly in an ambiguous and evolving environment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field with 5+ years of executive communications experience.
- Experience developing and delivering communication strategies, from audience and stakeholder analysis through implementation and success metrics tracking.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- 3+ years of experience managing and developing people, either direct or matrixed reports.
- Experience managing multiple long-term communication plans, campaigns, and projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management.
