Come join us on our journey!About the Role:As an Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maximizing equipment reliability and operational performance in our fulfillment centers by providing proactive controls automation and technical support. Your expertise will be essential in troubleshooting complex control systems, analyzing performance metrics, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize material handling equipment (MHE) systems and implement innovative projects. You'll work with state-of-the-art technology, including conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, print and apply systems, and SCADA devices and programs. But wait, there’s more: We provide lightweight fire-resistant daily wear and composite toe safety shoes for your safety!Key job responsibilitiesResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Serve as the site expert for maintaining the automation systems that are critical for operations- Collaborate with building Operations, Operations Engineering teams, FC Start-up Team, AFT Software teams, ACES team, and Safety in supporting MHE systems optimization and project implementation- Understand, maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks such as Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, motor control systems, servo drives, frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems- Monitor MHE metrics and partner with maintenance/operations to address system performance issues and provide analysis across all operations- Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians, both locally and remotely - Facilitate Failure Analysis and Incident Review processes to drive continuous improvement - Perform and analyze building System Assessments to enhance material handling system performance - Communicate technical issues and project timelines clearly to building managers, operations staff and maintenance teams At Amazon, we continuously strive to make sure our opportunities are open to all. To support this focus area, Amazon is seeking an experienced and innovative Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Manager to join our team. In this position, you will serve as the site’s designated first aid provider in the warehouse, coordinating and implementing the Amazon Global Program. The Site WHS Manager will be responsible for partnering with an Operations Team at the site level to execute company WHS policies and ensure compliance to all applicable local, regional and federal regulations. This individual will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in our processes to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for our associates. The Site WHS Manager must demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the Operations Team and influence change through providing comprehensive risk assessments and WHS data analysis. The Site WHS Manager will be responsible to lead and develop a team of WHS professionals. This individual must create and execute leadership development plans for their teams. They must communicate team expectations and provide frequent feedback, and ensure the team is executing to the core competencies of an Amazon WHS professional. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable Amazon WHS Policies. - Possess a thorough understanding of local/regional/domestic regulations and company policy - Leads initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in our processes to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for our associates - Establishes high quality relationships with both site and regional leadership - Measure site’s performance against published requirements in EHS policies. For all deficiencies, identify a plan for the site to implement and fix all identified deficiencies. Drive accountability for the plan - Analyze WHS metrics and review incident trends to justify the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where the WHS risk is highest. - Perform frequent site WHS audits to identify all non-compliance equipment and/or processes at the site. Implement solutions to eliminate exposure to these risks and prevent injury at other FC’s - Audit recordkeeping practices and WHS Information System entries to ensure compliance to global WHS standards and local regulations - Audit the workplace organization and Associate behaviors to ensure that training, auditing and scoring methods are accurate and consistent - Ensure site leadership and Associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy.
