We are a collaborative team of writers and engineers working to create best-in-class documentation used by developers all over the world. Our team crafts guidance for app creation and porting, APIs, SDKs, and code samples. You’ll run test apps, describe best practices for integrating SDKs, document how to submit an app on the Amazon Appstore, and more.
This position can be based out of San Jose/San Francisco, Seattle, or Arlington/DC.
Key job responsibilities
* Drive the development of product documentation for APIs/SDKs/guidance with product and engineering teams
* Define and scope writing projects and help determine priorities
* Work as part of a team to produce conceptual, how-to, and reference documentation for app development tools
* Apply and contribute to design and editorial standards to produce high-quality content
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or a related field
* 3+ years as a technical writer in a relevant field
* Experience designing and authoring app developer documentation
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience creating API and SDK documentation
* Ability to write example code in one or more of the following: Java, JavaScript, Kotlin, Python, React Native
* Familiarity with Android development
* Experience with publishing systems based on Markdown or HTML and version control such as GitHub/Git
* Experience writing for localization to multiple languages
* Experience using and following a style guide.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $96,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $195,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
