In this role, you'll lead a critical strategic initiative, spearheading a large scale mechanism to drive awareness, advocacy and implementation of legislation, regulation and standard development within the hardware compliance industry. We are looking for someone who brings a unique combination of depth understanding and experience in applying technical standards in consumer electronics. Have a strong grasp of regulatory affairs in US and EU and can effectively program manage the execution of new rules and regulation. Your technical expertise in compliance engineering, combined with your strong program management skills, will ensure our products meet evolving regulatory landscapes.

Key job responsibilities
* Proactively monitor emerging regulatory trends and identify potential impacts on our product lines.
* Develop and manage comprehensive programs to address new rules and regulations, translating complex legal and technical requirements into actionable plans for the team.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders across engineering, product development, legal, and public policy to ensure alignment and smooth implementation of compliance programs.
* Build and maintain relationships with industry associations, regulatory bodies, and standards development organizations to stay informed and potentially influence new regulations.
* Deliver in a fast-paced and often uncertain environment, while demonstrating leadership, technical competence, and strong communication skills.
* Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of compliance programs and identify areas for improvement.
* Develop and document processes to continually improve efficiency and reduce complexity in operations.

About the team
You will be part of the Hardware Compliance Engineering team responsible for compliance and international approval of Amazon consumer devices. We do this by leveraging our global diverse foundation of subject matter experts and robust processes and mechanisms. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent.
- Experience navigating the lifecycle of a new regulation from proposal to legislation and advocacy to passed law.
- Experience with regulatory affairs within the hardware industry.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Strong understanding of hardware product development and regulatory compliance processes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing at VP level.
- Proficiency with business applications (ex: Word, Excel, etc.) and cloud-based collaboration tools (ex: Confluence, JIRA).
- Passion for innovation and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market.
