Lab126 is an inventive research and development company that designs and engineers high-profile, portable, hand-held consumer electronics products, like the Echo and Kindle. The ideal candidate for the Service Manufacturing Test Engineer role will be a strong leader, capable of influencing large cross-functional teams and comfortable managing multiple projects in an environment where changing priorities are common. A deep background and industry experience in Test development, deployment, and qualification of test platforms with additional experience driving service test requirements and best practices into SW development organizations. The candidate will be highly organized and data driven.
Key job responsibilities
Collaboratively define and drive test strategy/vision and necessary requirements into cross-functional teams across multiple organizations.
Define project test architecture while collaborating with and influencing software and cross functional teams.
Oversee global implementation of standardized test platforms.
Guide product and manufacturing engineering investments in test infrastructure, automation and collateral for RL and own execution to HW service test program milestones.
Develop scalable test processes for continued improvements on efficiency and reduced complexity in operations.
Implementation of automated, sustainable, and repeatable test processes.
Work with external partners to leverage their expertise and advocate for support and tools to allow test integration with Lab126 HW.
This position requires travel internationally and domestically (10 - 15%).
About the team
The Amazon Devices Reverse Logistics organization is a stand alone operations organization supporting all facets of operations, including engineering, supply chain, forecast/planning, and operations management. The team's support of global returns across all product categories allows the team to work autonomously to provide the most cost-effective customer experience for product returns and warranty services.
The RL team’s mission is to delight consumer electronic customers worldwide by offering an OEM returns experience that delivers maximum margin recovery through flexible, world-class products & services.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- BS in a relevant engineering field or equivalent and experience on Linux and Android platforms
- 5+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Test Engineer or Test Development Engineer in a consumer electronics manufacturing environment.
- 2+ years of experience with RF and/or Audio test development in a manufacturing environment.
- Primary experiences that illustrate successful execution within dynamic, fast paced environments.
- Primary experiences that illustrate consistent data driven decision making with a bias for measurement.
- Demonstrated solutions that illustrate experience with building automation and processes which scale for volume.
- Experience with Consumer Electronic manufacturing test working with consumer electronics contract manufacturers.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Reverse Logistics or Service Engineering experience preferred, though not required.
- Experience with working in a global CM factory environment.
- Programming knowledge under Android SDK, C, C++, Python, Labview, or Linux.
- Knowledge of manufacturing test processes · Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and ensure timely execution of program delivery.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
