The Rewarded Ads team is building a new and exciting product offering that enable advertisers to offer rewards to consumers when they shop on Amazon. This is an exciting direction in the Advertising world as it creates a win-win situation for both the advertisers and consumers. We're looking for an experienced Software Development Manager to lead a new engineering team and collaborate across functions and organizations to deliver the Rewarded Ads reward experience, billing automation and external reporting.

As a Software Development Manager, you will partner with Product Managers to develop and drive the technical roadmap and goals for your team. You will hire and develop the best, driving career development and promotions for members of your team. You will use your engineering and leadership experience to build a culture of inclusion, innovation, quality and customer obsession. You'll work with engineers to create the practices, architectural and technology choices that will drive the Rewarded Ads business for years to come.

You should have expertise in building distributed systems and microservice architecture. You should love the challenge of balancing operational hardening with speed of delivery. You support the team to adopt engineering best practices and deliver high quality software solutions. You are equally comfortable leading tactical delivery as you are defining north star vision for your area. You apply your technical expertise and leadership skills to organize and guide your team to solve difficult software problems in a fast-paced environment. You are an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing, and use this skill to relentlessly advocate for advertiser and customer needs.

Advertising is a growing area within Amazon. Rewarded Ads is a key part of this space. We have high potential to identify opportunities for new ad products, experiment, incubate and scale the most successful ideas. Our product changes the way advertisers interact with Amazon Advertising. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and certification.
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Minimum of 3 years of experience managing software development teams, with hands-on architectural or distributed systems expertise
- A deep understanding of software development, and a proven track record of leading team to ship software on time with quality

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
- Has had at least two years’ of experience working on large scale distributed computing systems
- Has lead teams of 8+ people and scaled teams 25%-30% per year
- Ability to work in a fast paced and agile development environment.
- Has a track record of successfully participating in roadmap prioritization with product management; able to successfully communicate complex topics to customers and business executives alike
- Has demonstrated the ability to hire and retain top performers, and lead a high performing team
- Has the ability to work at all levels in the organization, with no job being considered too large or small.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
