As an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Solutions Architect (SA) within the Strategic Accounts segment, you are responsible for partnering with our most valuable customers to design cloud architectures utilizing AWS services. In this role, you will be a core member of the account team that supports the customer. You will work with other SAs to help the customer solve business challenges such as rapidly releasing new products or services to the market or building an innovative elastic, scalable, cost optimized application. Over a period of time, you will develop the skills to engage with product owners at the customer to influence product direction and help our customers enter new markets by utilizing AWS Services. You will also look for patterns and trends that can be broadly applied across an industry segment or a set of customers that can help accelerate innovation. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to grow your own body of knowledge, develop additional skills, and have some fun.

The Strategic Accounts Industries team was created to strengthen the deep collaborative relationship AWS has with flagship customers like Capital One, Netflix, Amazon, Adobe, and Salesforce & more. - As a trusted technical advisor, use your interpersonal skills to influence a variety of stakeholders from technical teams to executives, and help ensure their short-term technology decisions are aligned with their long-term goals.
- Work directly with customers to accelerate their business outcomes and recommend best-practice cloud architectures in line with their long-term business needs.
- Drive technical solutions discussions with your customers, diving deep into the details to solve complex technical challenges and use your knowledge to craft scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures.
- Scope and own customer engagements, with attention towards clear and well-defined objectives and success criteria.
- Work backwards from your customer's business needs to accelerate adoption of the most appropriate AWS technology
- Advocate for your customer with AWS service teams and influence product direction and roadmap

About the team
Strategic account customers tend to be disruptors in their respective domains where time-to-market (TTM) is key in achieving successful business outcomes. 1/Strategic Accounts are born in the cloud companies or early adopters in their cloud transformation journey. All of them form deep and strategic relationships with AWS. 2/Our customers operate at large scale and tend to push the limits of our services and identify where and how they break. 3/We build new features based on feedback from this set of customers, and through their feedback, we ensure that the innovations we develop serves the next wave of AWS adopters. 4/Strategic Accounts also are heavy users of Open-Source software (OSS) and will often build new solutions customized for their unique needs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- - Demonstrated success creating proof of concepts, demos, and/or scripts from scratch or leveraging reusable components and articulate common architectural patterns and design principles

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries
- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
- Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective
- Knowledge of distributed systems design and implementation, large scale automation and workflow management, database design and implementation and articulating business value from technical solutions

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $204,300/year in our highest geographic market.
