We are seeking a Head of Prime Video International Business Planning and Operations to work closely with the VP of International to develop and execute strategies and drive operational excellence to move our business forward. Working closely with the creative, business and operations teams across Prime Video and Studios globally, as well as regional VPs of Prime Video International, this role will be instrumental in the continuous development and improvement of our business practices, processes, and tools that define how we operate and grow. The role will engage in strategic thinking and operational excellence to manage and deliver high-impact initiatives across the organization.

The Head of Business Planning and Operations requires someone who is able to think big about global opportunities to expand and grow our business, and obsesses about how to entertain over 200MM Prime members around the world. With a focus on collaborating, inventing and simplifying and delivering results, you will work across our organization to identify the highest priorities areas of improvement and investment, then work backwards to deliver against them.

The ideal candidate for this role has deep knowledge and expertise of the entertainment and streaming business. They exhibit strong business acumen capabilities enabling them to analyze market trends, exercise high judgement, create informed recommendations and execute strategic plans that drive that drive business performance and operational efficiency.


Key job responsibilities
• Develop and drive long-term growth strategies across our International business. Own the development and delivery of long-term planning (3YF), annual budget and operating plans, along with Finance, and identify ways to optimize resource allocations and investments across Prime Video International
• Identify and build business rationales for new areas of investment, including territory expansion, category expansion and audience opportunities that will deliver against key performance metrics and deliver long range business plans for VP/SVP approval.
• Identify and implement customer lifecycle management, retention and churn mitigation strategies and ensure that across PVI we are hitting key churn input metrics (DSDs, DSWs, HPC). Work closely with Product/Tech and local business teams to influence and ensure that roadmaps reflect the most strategic priorities for PVI.
• Establish and improve business and decision-making processes to drive business and P&L performance, ensuring we are maximizing revenue and operating income growth. Regularly inspect the effectiveness of operating mechanisms (QBRs, MBRs) and implement new, improved approaches as needed.
• Implement ways to reduce overhead, leverage technology, and ensure that human capital is applied towards high value functions and output.
• Work cross-functionally with senior and regional leadership across Finance, Studios, Product/Tech and Global Business teams to identify new initiatives and drive them through to execution.
• Manage a portfolio of strategic projects from planning through execution, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Perform complex analysis and create business driving documents that surface key learnings and recommend new business initiatives.
• Manage monthly and quarterly business reviews to track progress, manage escalations, and continuously drive the organization towards our goals.
• Prioritize well and communicate clearly across all levels of the organization with a proven ability to influence others to adopt change.
• Collaborate with operations leads across other departments and regions to identify and execute on global operational and performance improvements.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 10+ years in the media and entertainment industry
• Experience in strategy, business operations, program management, or business development in the media and entertainment industry strongly preferred
• A passion to invent and simplify and deliver results, fostering a culture of positive improvement.
• Experience developing, analyzing, and communicating results to senior management.
• Demonstrated ability to implement processes, change management, and applying frameworks across an organization.
• A passion for film and television, digital media, and digital video.
• Strong executive level writer.
• Based in the US or willing to relocate. Los Angeles preferred.
• International travel required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• MBA or similar degree
• Experience developing and reviewing P&Ls and pro forma business models

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $130,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $278,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
