As Amazon/Prime Video’s Live Sports portfolio continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Coordinating Director-Studio/Shoulder programming. This position will be multi-faceted, working in tandem with other members of the production team in planning, preparing, and executing all areas of our studio & shoulder programming.
The Coordinating Director-Studio/Shoulder programming will play a significant role in developing the identity of Prime Video’s live sports offerings, as well as playing a crucial role in creating and developing the technical infrastructure in which we operate. The role will also include oversight of staff & freelance studio-based crew.
In addition to being Prime Video’s lead director for multiple Studio/Shoulder based productions, this role will also be responsible for working with internal partners across our Technical Operations, Engineering, Finance, Product, Sales, Legal and Marketing teams as well as working very closely with third party production companies on all matters related to studio/shoulder productions.
This role requires great flexibility, ability to deal with ambiguity and thrive in a startup environment. The successful candidate is a self-starter and comfortable on a small team, executing productions on occasion with little support. The successful candidate is also comfortable diving deep across multiple areas, possessing exceptional stakeholder and project management skills, and committed to fostering a positive working environment. The job will be based in Los Angeles, CA.


Key job responsibilities
• Directing multi-camera live studio shows
• Working with Operations to create standardized workflows for booking crew
• Establish protocols and work with many internal and external stakeholders in creating a production workflow
• Managing local and remote crews, juggling schedules, and long- term planning
• Being comfortable in receiving and giving editorial feedback
• Researching, pitching, and having a deep understanding of new technologies
• Working with production team to manage yearly budget
• Understanding of all Amazon sports content and helping to create a style guide across multiple sports
• Maintain strong relationships with On-Air Talent, cultivating a positive working environment with the ability to manage complicated situations

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working with other departments such as casting, production, research, PR, business and legal affairs
• 9+ years of experience as a creative executive
• Experience overseeing all creative aspects of development production and post production

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• A minimum of 10 years of studio directing experience
• Existing relationships with league and team contacts across major U.S. sports properties

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $181,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $300,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
