In this role, you will partner broadly with engineering, operations, and science teams to identify opportunities to ship packages faster and cheaper while delivering on-time to meet customer promises. This role provides the opportunity for broad exposure to various business, financial, and technical teams within Amazon.
Key job responsibilities
The Principal, Supply Chain will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and priorities for the network design process to ensure the health and optimization of the network is reflective of the engineered constraints of the network. This role drives cross-organizational alignment on critical capacity and physical constraint inputs into the network design modeling cascade for speed, cost, and quality optimization. The Principal must ensure the network design aligns with and supports the overall business strategy. The complexity of work stems from the pairing of requisite technical and functional skills needed to quantify supply chain inefficiencies and concurrently lead the efforts to drive resolution. The Principal will be a partner to the NDPE science and tech team, supporting a cohort of supply chain managers and BIEs in conducting the sensitivity analyses underpinning the financial cases for constraint resolution, requiring significant capital outlays. The Principal will drive continuous improvement initiatives in partnership with NDPE science and tech teams to identify and resolve gaps in the current modeling approach, leading GTS teams in the refinement of network modeling capabilities and tools.
The Principal will provide clear, concise, and regular updates on projects and programs, defining appropriate performance metrics to measure network design initiatives. The Principal will facilitate business reviews to ensure the network is continuously tuned to the latest operational capacities and constraints. Additionally, the Principal will ensure the opportunity costs of an imbalanced network are continuously monitored and accounted for in various forums, not limited to WBRs, MBRs, QBRs, and broad network communications.
