The Senior Resilience Manager (SRM) enables comprehensive security risk preparedness and response process, building resilience strategies, frameworks and capabilities for the organization to cope with various levels of threats, incidents and crisis situations that jeopardize Amazon’s personnel, operations, assets and brand.

The SRM must be experienced working in ambiguous, complex environments to build resilient crisis management programs and capabilities, as well as educating and empowering teams to implement these processes. The SRM must have a high degree of risk and crisis management experience, resourcefulness and drive, critical and creative thinking skills, and exposure to tactical and operational security. They must have the ability to communicate information that may be incomplete, indirect, highly complex, seemingly unrelated and/or technically advanced. They must be comfortable with evolving technology, able to deal with and work through ambiguity, exhibit flexibility needed to shift workload in accordance with changing priorities, be comfortable leading in a sometimes stressful and fast-paced, priority-driven environment, and be prepared to brief departmental leadership. They must be a highly motivated self-starter who can operate within a global team.


Key job responsibilities
- Create detailed resilience frameworks, standards and programs to enable risk change identification, assessment communication and management.
- Create mechanisms, standards and processes by translating Amazon security policies into real world applications to adapt to and or absorb impacts of disruptive events.
- Support the business with analytical deep dives to identify root causes of events and determine associated impacts, additional mitigations and or corrective actions
- Train, advise, and partner with other teams to identify, prepare for and manage critical incidents and crises through robust standards and processes
- Work with stakeholders and internal customers to establish, provide, and agree on clear goals, objectives, and performance delivery outcomes as well as timelines
- Support planning and response with internal teams and manage relationships with business units and functions
- Build a resilient organization and prepare the business to be able to respond to a range of events that may pose risk to associates, operations, assets and brand
- Respond to requests to assist when additional guidance or crisis management is needed
- Partner with stakeholder teams to invent and implement crisis management solutions


A day in the life
The SRM works closely and on daily basis with senior World Wide Operations Security (WWOS) leaders, Regional Security & Loss Prevention (S&LP) and Operations leaders to determine organization challenges and needs, translating them into proportionate and effective standards and programs. World Wide Amazon Stores (WWAS) operates in highly diversified and complex environments which includes numerous regulatory and law enforcement models, cultures, languages, criminality levels and national, political, social and security complexities. The Senior Resilience Manager works to support and sustain long term programs and initiatives and can be called upon to support dynamic risk preparedness and response during changing operating risk environments. The SRM enables action through regional teams and partners, influencing adoption and capability continuous improvement with regional flexibility and scale.

About the team
Working in partnership with our stakeholders, we secure the Amazon supply chain end-to-end and promote security in business decision-making conversations. We do this by preventing Security and Loss Prevention-related risks and vulnerabilities as early as possible, intervening in unfolding incidents in order to minimize any negative impact as well as thoroughly investigating security-related incidents in order to identify and remove root causes, preventing reoccurrence.

The Resilience team creates and maintains a Resilience framework to ensure continuation of our business, providing risk oversight, risk preparedness, contingency planning and incident response as a service to Business and operational Security & Loss Prevention Teams. The Resilience team provides strategic, tactical and operational mechanisms by working closely with global and regional business leaders and support functions.

The team leverages global and regional Risk & Resilience (R&R) teams to monitor existing and evolving threats, assessing risk level changes in order to drive increased preparedness and enable business adaptation and or absorption of changing risk conditions, including response and recovery activity to manifested incident and crisis events.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years experience in crisis management program development and/or crisis management supervision over complex projects
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar training/certification
- Knowledge of industry risk assessment and/or business resilience processes

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master's Degree or higher in Risk Management, Emergency Response, Disaster Response, International Relations, Political Science, Business Intelligence, Business Continuity, Resilience, or other related field
- Experience with continuous improvement cycles and analytical methodology
- Familiarity with risk, crisis management, business continuity and data management platforms (BSI, Audit board etc)
- Security risk management industry certification (ASIS CPP, CSMP)
- Fluency in a language other than English
- Ability to communicate with all levels of business leadership and staff
- Demonstrated ability to work with multiple, competing deadlines, with excellent attention to detail

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $107,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
