Principal Technical Program Manager, Item Identity
Principal TPM at Amazon owns a very large cross org program(s). Manages significantly complex cross-functional technology initiatives. They are strategic and make trade-offs: business opportunity vs. resources vs. sustainability. They can identify risks/opportunities in technical strategies, architecture(s) and/or engineering organization structure(s).Item Identity organization is responsible for transforming seller listings into products buyers can purchase on the Amazon Marketplace. This enables a one stop product experience where buyers can find all information about the product, competing offers by sellers, and product reviews. This is a key differentiator which appeals buyers to shop on Amazon. The portfolio of services and products we own directly impacts both seller and buyer experiences on a massive scale. As a Principal TPM with Item Identity Organization you will collaborate with a wide range of business/partner teams to establish overall program strategy. You will drive programs to enable solutions that allow business teams to expand product selection across different marketplaces on Amazon.com, and provide perfect product selection to buyers. You will also work with applied scientists to explore how machine learning (ML) and large language models (LLMs) can be leveraged to improve accuracy of listing-to-product transformations at scale, and integrate it as part of overall program roadmap. Key job responsibilities• You will deep dive into data, experiences and work with partner teams to understand the customer problems, pain points and root causes.• You will be working with very large-scale systems with dependencies across orgs, understanding of those systems will be critical for success in this role. • You will be representing verbally and in writing complex decisions, tough trade-offs, and potential solutions clearly to leaders up to 3 levels above across orgs to influence program strategy.• You will drive execution of programs with high quality, provide sustainable solution, and manage program risks in collaboration with business stakeholders and program dependencies.• You should thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and shouldn’t be hindered by ambiguity or multiple competing priorities.• You will recognize when current programs are susceptible to prior technology failure patterns and actively steer teams to avoid repeating these failures.About the teamOur services support hundreds of internal clients, and businesses that contribute to the Amazon catalog.
