The ideal candidate will have a background in logistics with a focus of transportation, shipping receiving and inventory control and warehousing. Working with the Logistics Manager, they create plans to optimize the flow and delivery of parts through their lifecycle; tracking inventory locations and movement. They work closely with Datacenter Operations Technicians to fulfill parts and equipment deliveries quickly and accurately. They will also work with Procurement teams to ensure that inbound equipment orders are complete and delivered to appropriate Data Center Locations. They are responsible for accurate data entry and resolving questions from peer organizations. Additionally, the Logistics Specialist will ensure that all information associated with the deliveries such as inventory tracking and Ticket updates are accurate to ensure equipment is ready for processing by end user. The ideal Logistics Specialist will dive deep into and the inventory they distribute to better understand the tracking, control and accuracy surrounding the components. The Specialist will be involved in, if not responsible for or limited to, decision making involving route planning, vehicle maintenance, load planning, loading and unloading equipment daily equipment deliveries, ultimately helping us to deliver on our goals of high availability and low cost. They will also maintain up-to-date metrics dashboards and or excel spreadsheets and will create reports for internal and external customer and management as required. Responsibilities can and will include driving long distances for long periods of time up to 10 hours a day in company vehicles such as box trucks and cargo vans, manual tasks, such as assembling, addressing, stamping and arranging for the shipment of merchandise and materials.
