The Amazon Vendor Services (AVS) organization strives to improve the Amazon customer experience by working directly with Selling Partners to enable more selection, reduce defects, and drive growth across their businesses. Our team invents and innovates across technology, processes and people to enhance the services we offer, improve Selling Partner engagement and satisfaction, and build scalable solutions. Our team is responsible for building robust processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and partnering with dependent teams to improve tools and systems for internal and external customers. As a BIE, you will develop, standardize, and report on data which drives efficiency and scalability for the AVS Program. You will work closely with business intelligence, data engineering, operations, marketing, and other Retail partners to improve the Selling Partner experience. You will develop and implement ideas that drive continuous improvement by simplifying processes and driving automation. This position provides opportunities to influence one of the high visibility and high impact areas in the organization. Key job responsibilities- You will utilize your deep expertise in business analysis, metrics, reporting, and analytic tools/languages like SQL, Excel, and others, to translate data into meaningful insights through collaboration with scientists, software engineers, data engineers and business analysts. - Use analytical and statistical rigor to solve complex problems and drive business decisions- Mine data from database tables (ex. Redshift, MySQL, Oracle) using SQL and log files by writing scripts (ex. PERL, Python, UNIX)- Conduct deep dive analyses of business problems and formulate conclusions and recommendations to be presented to senior leadership- Produce written recommendations and insights that will help shape effective metric development and reporting for key stakeholders- Simplify and automate reporting, audits and other data-driven activities- Partner with Engineering teams to enhance data infrastructure, data availability, and broad access to customer insights- To develop and drive best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation- Learn new technology and techniques to meaningfully support product and process innovationBASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling ...
