Where customers prefer to buy over build, we become their trusted partner with solutions that are no-brainers to buy and easy to use.Key job responsibilitiesKey job responsibilities:- Provide expertise on grid transmission and distribution concepts to guide software product development.- Lead market and industry research to understand the state-of-art, and recommend innovative solutions to challenges facing the electric utility industry.- Collaborate with software developers, product managers, and UX designers to identify the right customers problems and to help design solutions.- Assist in creating use cases and test scenarios that reflect real-world grid management situations.- Collaborate with product leads to translate complex utility industry requirements into implementable solutions.- Review and validate software solutions from a utility industry perspective.- Contribute to the development of algorithms for power flow analysis, fault detection, and grid stability calculations.- Advise on data models and structures that accurately represent grid components and their relationships.- Provide insights on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes that may impact product development.About the teamWhy AWSAmazon Web Services (AWS) is the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform. That’s why you’ll find endless knowledge-sharing, mentorship and other career-advancing resources here to help you develop into a better-rounded professional.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the electric utility industry, with a focus on transmission and distribution systems.- In-depth knowledge of power system analysis, grid operations, and control systems.- Familiarity with SCADA systems, smart grid technologies, and renewable energy integration.- Knowledge of distributed energy resources (DERs) and their impact on the grid.- Understanding of industry regulations and standards (e.g., NERC, FERC).- Experience with power system modeling and simulation software.- Experience in representing business stakeholder interests to the leadership teams of utilities, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-experts.- Experience working with software development teams or on technology projects in the utility sector. ...
